Altadena, CA Homes and Neighborhood Guide
Altadena is an unincorporated neighborhood of Los Angeles County near Pasadena and La Canada. Altadena nestles against the San Gabriel Mountains north of New York Drive / Woodbury Road extending from the 210 West to Eaton Canyon in the East. The name originates from its shortened Pasa 'dena' neighbor with the additional Spanish prefix of 'Alta' meaning 'upper'. Altadena is approximately 15 miles from Downtown Los Angeles and home to approximately 42,000 citizens. Being an unincorporated area awards residents a certain libertarian lifestyle with few local ordinances especially in regards to on-street parking.

Altadena Neighborhoods and Architecture
Some of the most desirable Altadena homes are located in the Country Club area surrounding Altadena Town and Country Club however the neighborhoods of La Vina, Loma Alta, and Eaton Canyon all share Altadena's beautiful mountain views and historical architecture. Some homes are built into the hillside with gorgeous views of not only Downtown Los Angeles but all the way to Long Beach and even Catalina Island on a clear day. Many of the homes built around the country club were designed in the mid-century in a luxurious ranch style, however there are Spanish, Craftsman, and Mediterranean homes throughout the area with most homes having influences from all three.
